Blue Skin Obagi Peels are a leading deep rejuvenation treatment which helps eliminate blemishes, acne scars, wrinkles, uneven pigmentation and sun damage whilst increasing overall texture and tightness. Obagi offers the Blue Peel system using (TCA) Trichloroacetic Acid as the active ingredient mixed with the patented Blue Base from Obagi. A low concentration of Trichlororoacetic Acid is mixed with a special blue base to ensure an even, uniform distribution prior to application. Obagi Blue Skin Peel allows the Doctor to regulate the depth of the peel to remove surface layers of aged and damaged skin. These dead cells are replaced by healthier ones, allowing the skin’s own clarity and tightness to resurface.
The application of Blue Skin Obagi Peels is always administered by a Doctor, who has specialised training and experience with this highly effective peel.

The use of the Obagi Nu-Derm system is recommended before and after you Obagi Blue Peel; this is given to you by your doctor or nurse
Blue Peel RADIANCE is a specially formulated combination of natural acids to promote gentle exfoliation. It is applied by one of our practitioners and takes approximately 20 minutes to apply. A mild tingling and discomfort is usually experienced, but subsides very quickly.

Post Peel Instructions
After a treatment with Blue Peel RADIANCE, you will need to care for your skin to maximize and maintain results. The single most important thing to remember after any chemical peel is to wear nonchemical sun protection (SPF 30 or higher) at all times. Obagi recommends Rosaclear® Skin Balancing Sun Protection SPF 30 or Obagi Nu-Derm® Physical UV Block SPF 32. Be sure to ask our practitioner about these products.
Obagi has developed an After-care Card especially for you. Our practitioners will provide this card after you have tried one of our Obagi Peels.
Blue Peel RADIANCE may be ideal for you to use with other Obagi products.

If you respond well to use of the peel on your face, the peel can be used on your neck and décolletage. Use of an additional vial of peeling product will be required to treat both areas. Skin on the neck and décolletage may be more sensitive, and redness may last longer on these areas than on the face.
Blue Peel RADIANCE is an easy-to-use and gentle booster to any Obagi skin care system, including the ELASTIderm Décolletage System. Simply ensure that you cease use of “active” products 3 days prior to the peel. These include any hydroquinone-containing products and tretinoin. It is possible to have a peel of the face, neck, and décolletage in a single appointment. However, it is recommended that you undergo the application on your face first, before moving to the neck and décolletage. As always, make sure you are using sun protection on the neck and décolletage at all times, but particularly before and after receiving a peel. Our practitioners can advise you whether it’s appropriate for you to have a peel on skin areas other than your face.
Blue Peel RADIANCE is an easy-to-use and gentle booster to any Obagi skin care system. Just make sure you cease use of exfoliating or potentially irritating products three days prior to the peel. These products include any hydroquinone-containing products, exfoliating agents (such as Exfoderm® and ExfodermForte), and tretinoin. In addition, you should avoid excessive sun exposure, electrolysis, depilatory creams, waxing, and laser hair removal 5 to 7 days prior to the peel.
Face, neck and chest
The procedure takes approx. 1.5 hours and does not usually require sedation. The TCA is normally applied to the face and neck and a mild burning sensation will occur that can be assisted by using a cooling device to cool the skin. You may then experience a blush tint to your skin that usually washes off within 1 to 2 days.
Depending on the strength and depth of the peel, you will experience light swelling following the treatment. Within 2-3 days your skin will begin to peel, the peeling continues over the next several days. By days 7-10 your skin should be mostly healed and your skins appearance should continue to improve for the next 5-6 weeks becoming firmer, clearer, smoother, healthier and more youthful looking skin.
